There must be a way to add a transition to all clips or a selection of clips but I cannot find it.There is a workaround. Select all of your media in the corrupt timeline and copy to a new timeline. So the best way I've found to combat this is go to playback, click on, render cache and set it to smart. You'll notice that on text and transitions it will have a red line when it isn't rendered and a blue line when it is. Hope this helps.
